MEET THE ANIMALS

(Recommended for ages 3-9)
Explore the wonders of forests and meet the critters that inhabit them. After making an owl mask, use it to blend in as you hunt for friends and food in the Estelle H. Womack Natural History Collection.

DINOSAURS

Ages 3-7: Be a paleontologist for the day and explore how fossils are formed and the secrets these hidden treasures reveal. Learn about trace fossils as you create your own fossil mold.
Ages 8-11: Discover how fossils are formed and what they can reveal about the plants and animals of the past. Make your own fossil discoveries as you are challenged to make your own salt dough and reconstruct a dinosaur skeleton using pasta!

SENSATIONAL SEEDS

(Recommended for ages 3-6)
Learn about plant life cycles and what plants need for growth as you create silly seed-headed creatures. You must pay close attention since your creature’s survival depends on your care.

DO THE LOCOMOTION

(Recommended for ages 3-7) *Materials Fee: $15
All aboard for this exploration of sound. Learn how vibrations help us communicate. Practice sound science as you make train whistles and use them to relay messages. Then, travel back in time by visiting our restored Norfolk and Western Caboose.

BIRTHDAY BUBBLES

(Recommended for ages 3-7)
Enjoy bubble tricks and games. Try your hand at creating floating orbs as you make your own colorful bubble art and experiment with bubble solutions.

BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES

(Recommended for ages 3-7)
Investigate the life cycle of butterflies as you create symmetrical butterfly art. Explore the Butterfly Station and Garden or the Butterfly Collection to spot different stages of metamorphosis.

REPTILE EXPLORERS

(Recommended for ages 5-8)
Get up close and personal with Tom, Iggy, Spike and Spot, residents of our Critter Corner. Learn what is necessary for these reptiles to survive, create your own camouflaged lizard then meet some creatures face to face.

UNDER THE SEA

(Recommended for ages 5-8)
Embark on a deep sea investigation as you and your friends examine the characteristics of the ocean environment. Use what you have learned to group ocean organisms and make ocean art.

MATTER MAGIC

(Recommended for ages 5-11)
Learn the different states and properties of matter as you experiment with different substances to create your own slime and oobleck.

ROCKET POWER

(Recommended for ages 6-13)
Become a “rocket scientist” as you learn about aerodynamics, water pressure, and Sir Isaac Newton’s 3rd Law of Motion. How high will your rocket go? That is the challenge in this fizzy experiment!

UP, UP AND AWAY

(Recommended for ages 6-13)
Wing your way through the science of flight as you make your own colorful kite. You and your friends will have the chance to test your kites to see whose will soar above the rest.

BIRTHDAY BEAUTY

(Recommended for ages 11-13) *Materials Fee: $15
Learn the chemistry of makeup as you investigate the science behind cosmetics. You and your friends will experiment with ingredients to create the perfect lip gloss.

Fees

$75 ($60 for Science Center members) for up to 10 children. Each additional child is $5 (maximum of 15 children). Ten adult chaperons are admitted free. Additional adults are $4 each.

A $20 deposit is due at the time you reserve your party. If you cancel your party, notify us 10 days prior to your party date and your deposit will be refunded.

Gift bags can be created especially for your party guests. Prices start at $2 each. All gift bags are age, gender and theme appropriate and can be customized to meet your needs.
