If you're looking for an experience that will give your camper the chance to discover new things and have fun, all while keeping curious brains engaged, then your camper belongs at the Danville Science Center!
This summer, we’re offering four weeks of camp. Two weeks are designed for campers ages 4 – 7 and two weeks are for campers ages 8 – 12. Camps will be offered Tuesday – Friday each week and camp will either take place in the morning (9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.) or afternoon (1:30 – 4 p.m.).

June 13 – 16, 1:30 – 4 p.m.
Ages 4 – 7
Get your hands wet while exploring the importance of water to life on Earth. Create a working model of the water cycle, discover how different substances react to it, and harness the power of water in fun activities and games. Campers are sure to make a splash!
June 20 – 23, 1:30 – 4 p.m.
Ages 8 – 12
Become a defender of the deep! Discover the fascinating life found in and on the mighty Dan River. Explore the depths of this local watershed using an underwater drone. From resource to recreation, learn how to play with and protect this wonderful world of wetness through creative fun and team-building activities.
June 27 – 30, 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Ages 4 – 7
It’s time to cook up some experiments with items found in a kitchen! What happens when you combine certain ingredients? Do they change? Uncover the science behind these reactions and get innovative as you think about how we can use everyday items in a different way.
July 11 – 14, 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Ages 8 – 12
Create the art, animations, backgrounds and storytelling necessary to design your very own custom video game. Each day’s activities will build on the next until, by the last day, you have created something uniquely yours.
Summer camp is $60 for members and $70 for non-members per week. Camp fees include a daily snack and all camp activities. To register for camp, please call 434.791.5160 or fill out the registration form and email it to us at dscgs@smv.org.
