Solar Eclipse Viewing Party
Monday, August 21, 2017 • 1 – 4 pm
The moon is crashing the sun’s party, and we’re going to celebrate!
Join us at the Danville Science Center for a viewing party to celebrate the wonder
of a solar eclipse. We haven’t seen a partial eclipse comparable to what we’ll see in August since May 1994 and will not happen again until 2045. Enjoy hands-on activities focusing on the science behind the event and check out the eclipse itself using some of the Science Center’s safe viewing equipment (quantities are limited).

Rail Days
Saturday, September 23, 10 am - 5 pm
Sunday, September 24, 11am - 2 pm
Enjoy N-scale models traveling through tiny towns and rural areas. Check out a 1,200 sq. ft display of model trains running and weaving along multi-layer tracks crossing artistic landscapes of mountains, valleys and rivers. Everything is to scale from the loads on the boxcars to the cows in the fields. Walk through a fully restored Norfolk and Western caboose along the train tracks and check out a miniature version of the Old 97 wreck scene and Danville’s historic train station in Science Station.
