If you're looking for an experience that will give your camper the chance to discover new things and have fun, all while keeping curious brains engaged, then your camper belongs at the Danville Science Center!
This summer, we’re offering four weeks of camp. Two weeks are designed for campers ages 4–7 and two weeks are for campers ages 8–12. Camps will be offered Tuesday–Friday each week and camp will either take place in the morning (9:30 a.m.–12 p.m.) or afternoon (1:30–4 p.m.). June 2–5, 9:30 a.m.–12 p.m.
Design and build race cars, rockets and rocket catchers, flying helicopters and more, in this camp designed to develop creativity in young engineers. Using a variety of materials, campers will have fun learning STEM concepts while creating exciting and functional hands-on projects to take home.
June 16–19, 1:30–4 p.m.
Creepy crawlies, raging reptiles, butterflies and birds will fill this camp with wonder. Learn about conservation and preservation practices that help wildlife flourish. Young herpetologists, entomologists and ornithologists will be in their element as we explore the natural areas around us.
June 9–12, 9:30 a.m.–12 p.m.
Movie magic comes to life in this camp as participants learn to use technology to create fun and educational science-themed videos. Brainstorm ideas, design storyboards and then film and edit scenes leading up to popcorn-worthy documentaries by the end of camp.
June 23–June 26, 1:30–4 p.m.
Budding survivalists will learn how to navigate, cook with energy from the Sun, design and fabricate emergency shelters and how to purify water in emergencies. Discover how drone technology is used for search and rescue, emergency services and more!
Please note that camps will only be held Tuesday–Friday each week.
Summer camp is $70 for members and $80 for non-members per week. Camp fees include a daily snack and all camp activities.
