Members and friends may support Danville Science Center in many ways. Planned gifts to the Danville Science Center can include (but are not limited to):

By Will or Trust

  • Name the Danville Science Center as the beneficiary in your will or trust. This is the simplest method for charitable giving through your estate. You may designate a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate.
  • Name the Danville Science Center as a remainder beneficiary in your will or trust to receive assets after all other bequests, taxes and expenses have been satisfied.

Life Insurance or Retirement Plan

  • Name the Danville Science Center as the beneficiary and owner, as partial beneficiary or as contingent beneficiary in a life insurance policy that is no longer needed. Any benefits received by the Science Center from life insurance plans are not subject to estate taxes.
  • Name the Danville Science Center as the beneficiary or contingent beneficiary of your retirement plan. The Science Center will collect the full plan assets without the payment of income or estate taxes.

Tangible or Real Property

  • This type of bequest is subject to the approval of the Gift Review Committee and must concur with Science Center’s Gift Acceptance Policies and Guidelines.

Stocks and Securities

  • These gifts include, but are not limited to, Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) and Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs).
